WATCH: Guy sets Guinness World Record after being launched 92.5 feet off an inflatable blob

A man named Robin Steiner just set a new world record for the highest height ever achieved off a blob jump, launching himself an absolutely absurd 92.5 feet, or 28.2 meters, into the sky.

The dude straight up FLEW. For anyone unfamiliar, a blob jump is when you sit on one end of a giant inflatable blob floating on the water, and someone jumps down onto the other end to catapult you into the air. Robin Steiner got catapulted damn near 100 feet up.

Gotta be honest, I really don’t care about Guinness World Records as a general rule. You can miss me with most of that nonsense. It’s old-world stuff that nobody actually cares about anymore, longest fingernails, most spoons balanced on a face, whatever.

It all feels like a relic from a different era but there’s exactly one exception to that rule, and it’s this. If you’re launching yourself 92.5 feet into the sky off a massive inflatable blob, you suddenly have my full and undivided attention.

92.5 feet is roughly the height of a nine-story building, and this maniac reached it by getting yeeted off a blob into open air. The sheer commitment it takes to sit on that thing knowing you’re about to be fired into the stratosphere, and then to actually break the record doing it, is exactly the kind of unhinged human achievement I can respect.

So congratulations, Robin Steiner. You’ve done what most Guinness records could never do, which is make me actually care. 92.5 feet of pure, chaotic glory straight off the blob. That’s a record worth celebrating.
