Eagles roster moves

Eagles sign OT Xavier Truss and DT Zion Wilson to practice squad, release Josiah Deguara and Shaun Wade

The Eagles made four practice squad moves on Tuesday afternoon. Two players were signed and two were released.

Offensive tackle Xavier Truss and defensive tackle Zion Wilson are in. Tight end Josiah Deguara and cornerback Shaun Wade are out.

Eagles Add Xavier Truss To The Offensive Line Room

Truss is 25 years old and played his college football at Georgia. He went undrafted in 2025 and signed with the Denver Broncos before landing with the New Orleans Saints. He played zero offensive snaps and 30 special teams snaps for New Orleans last season.

The Saints waived him at roster cuts this year. He joined the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad in mid-September and was cut last week. Now he is with the Birds.

His snap history shows time at left tackle, right tackle, left guard and right guard. In the 2026 preseason he played 48 snaps at left guard and 41 at right guard. That kind of flexibility is useful for a team that needs bodies who can fill reps in practice.

The Eagles’ offensive line is already in a spot where depth matters, and Truss gives them another option to call up if it gets worse.

His pre-draft scouting report from NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein called him tough but inconsistent. It projected him as a Day 3 pick with backup potential at guard.

Zion Wilson Is Back With The Eagles

Wilson showed some potential in the preseason, and it is good to see him back in Philadelphia. It is fair to ask why the Birds did not add him back to the practice squad sooner.

The Eagles also have five defensive tackles on the roster, plus Gabe Hall on the practice squad. Adding another DT is a developmental move.

Eagles Release Josiah Deguara And Shaun Wade

Deguara signed with the Eagles in mid-September after Stowers was placed on injured reserve. The team elevated him for the Week 3 game against the Chicago Bears. He played zero offensive snaps and 21 special teams snaps.

Stowers became eligible to return from injured reserve after Week 4. With Deguara gone, the next question is whether the Eagles open Stowers’ 21-day practice window soon.

Wade, a 28-year-old cornerback, spent training camp with the Eagles and was released in late August. He came back on the practice squad in late September. Now he is gone again.

The Eagles’ practice squad has Truss and Wilson on it, and Deguara and Wade are off it.
