Bryce Harper was replying to TikTok comments confirming there will be a lockout in 2027
Bryce Harper is officially in offseason mode. He’s back on TikTok, drinking raw milk and blending up some kind of organic health shake. I can’t tell you exactly what’s in it, because I didn’t watch closely, and frankly, what baseball players do on their own time is their business.
What was interesting was the comment section, because Harper was in there replying. One commenter said Harper seems to like the offseason more than the season. His answer: “This is true.”
Some people got worked up over that one. Relax. The man gets to be home with his family instead of on a plane to Milwaukee. Everybody likes their time off more than their time at work. I get it.
The reply that actually mattered
The one that stood out was his response to a commenter named Snugglebear0808, who joked that it seems like March through October is the offseason.
Bryce Harper’s reply: “It will be this year.”

It’s not exactly shocking coming from Bryce Harper. He and Rob Manfred have butted heads more than once, and Harp has never been shy about where he stands but it’s another sign of where this is all heading.
Get ready for the lockout
The collective bargaining agreement expires December 1, and a lockout is basically a foregone conclusion at this point. The owners want a salary cap, the players want nothing to do with one, and neither side looks interested in budging.
At this point the only real question is how long it lasts. The last one ran 99 days and pushed back Opening Day. If Bryce Harper’s comment section is any indication, the guys in the room aren’t expecting this one to be any shorter.
