Finally: EDP445 arrested and charged with underage sex crimes

EDP445 was arrested Wednesday in Henderson, Nevada, and he is now charged with four sex crimes tied to a 2021 sting in Bakersfield, California.

The Kern County District Attorney’s Office charged Bryant Moreland, known online as EDP445, on Monday. The counts are attempted lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, going to an arranged meeting with a minor, contacting a minor with sexual intent, and sending pornography with the intent to seduce a minor. Henderson police assisted with the arrest, and he is being transported to Kern County. These are charges. He has not been convicted of anything.

The case goes back to April 2021, when Alex Rosen and the Predator Poachers used an adult decoy posing as a 13-year-old girl. The charges concern an alleged incident on April 17, 2021.

Prosecutors looked at the case in 2021 and 2022. The DA’s office says those efforts fell apart because the reporting parties did not cooperate. What changed was a documentary. In August, Mike Clum released The Sick Mind of EDP445, which included an interview with Chris Hansen. The DA’s office says statements Moreland made in that film led it and the Kern County Sheriff’s Office to reopen the investigation. Hansen says Moreland’s on-camera admissions gave prosecutors enough to get a warrant.

The EDP445 Arrest Was a Long Time Coming

Nobody who followed the EDP445 story should be surprised. The 2021 sting was public and spread everywhere. In 2023, another incident involving the YouTuber JiDion drew a confirmed Kern County Sheriff’s investigation. No charges followed.

That is more than five years of allegations, two separate incidents, and no arrest. EDP445’s own words are what finally moved the case. He sat down on camera, talked, and the talking got him arrested.

EDP445 Is a Stain on Eagles Fandom

EDP445 built his channel on Philadelphia Eagles commentary. He passed a million subscribers by early 2020 as a loud Eagles fan, and he did it in Eagles jerseys. Every rant about this team came with the Eagles logo on his chest and his face in front of it.

Eagles fans did not make him and have nothing in common with him. But his following came from Eagles content, which means his name and this team’s name will keep showing up in the same headlines.

So say it plainly. He does not represent this fan base and never did. The jersey does not belong to him. EDP445 is a defendant in a case involving a child, and the courts will decide the rest.
