Joel Embiid Exits Game Early with Shoulder Injury. Will Not Return.

With about a minute to go in the 1st quarter of tonight’s game against the Cavs – Joel Embiid was fouled by center Ante Zizic.
Sixers say Joel Embiid has a shoulder sprain and will not return
Are you kidding me? Damn.
Philly keeps gettin hit with injuries— John Clark (@JClarkNBCS) February 27, 2020
Zizic seemed to get wrapped up with Joel – pulling him around and twisting Embiid’s back and shoulder. Wincing in pain, Joel made his way to the free-throw line. He missed both free throws and signaled to the bench he needed to come out. Shortly after, Furkan Korkmaz issued an intentional foul and Embiid made his way to the locker room.
Embiid did, however, come back out and join the bench, still in pain, but ultimately went back to the locker room with Elton Brand waiting in the tunnel.
Shortly after, Joel Embiid was ruled out with a left shoulder sprain.
This injury couldn’t come at a worse time. We are now without Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. No definite timetable on either return.
The Sixers playoff run just got a whole lot tougher.
Embiid is scheduled to have an MRI tomorrow. More information to come.
