Injury Update: Ben Simmons to be Re-evaluated in 2 Weeks.

In no surprise to anyone – the Ben Simmons injury is a serious one. He has suffered nerve impingement in his lower back and will be re-evaluated in two weeks. Shams Charania Reporting:

Look – we knew this was going to be bad. Since our first report on the injury to the possible outcomes laid out by Vic here – it was never looking good for Ben Simmons. It’s time to get prepared for a Simmons-less Sixers for likely around a month, if not more at this point.
The good news is Joel Embiid is dominating. And yes, I know it’s against the Hawks and they are absolute buns – but it was still good to see. Tobias Harris needs to step up. It’s time to fulfill the contractual obligations and be a STAR – not just an efficient piece in the background.
I do like Shake Milton and Josh Richardson. This is a great time to get Shake Milton acclimated for the PG role. No Brett – Not Furkan. J-Rich, Shake, and Alec Burks running point from here on out.
Sixers medical staff – I honestly don’t understand you. I really don’t. But I’m exhausted. It’s time to focus and get ready for a very important month of basketball without Ben Simmons.
Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, Josh Richardson: Our fate is in your hands.
Quick Update: Per Woj – Brett Brown is, in fact, preparing to play without Ben Simmons. Great to see:
Ben Simmons will be re-evaluated in 2 weeks for nerve impingement in lower back, but there’s little expectation that he’d be ready to return to lineup that soon, sources tell ESPN. Doctors are hopeful treatment can drive improvement, but Sixers are preparing to play without him.
