Sixers Beat the Pistons as the NBA and Sports World Suspend Play Due to Coronavirus.
Brett Brown made it abundantly clear to the media yesterday that he plans to pair Al Horford & Joel Embiid in the absence of Ben Simmons. As much as they have struggled this season, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. With Embiid returning after a 2-week hiatus due to shoulder injury, playing alongside Horford seemed counterproductive. In what may be the last game of the NBA season, the two big men made it work for a night. It’s almost fitting for the Sixers season that as soon as Joel Embiid & Al Horford figured out how to play together, the NBA suspends the season for coronavirus.
Joel Embiid & Al Horford combined for 50 points, 24 rebounds, and 9 assists, recording 20+ points each in the same game for the first time this season.
