Chapter 1: A Day Without Sports

Welcome to March 2020. There is no hope. I’m dead inside. Everything is cancelled or suspended.

- MLS Delayed 30 Days
- NLL Suspended
- Nascar Suspended
- PGA Tour Suspended
- March Madness Cancelled
- XFL Suspended
The dark days are upon us. There’s literally nothing on TV worth watching. I haven’t even attempted to turn on Sports Talk Radio in Philly. I’m sure they’re doing just fine though. They never really talk about anything important anyways. Probably the same old stuff Kevin Kinkead listed below on Crossing Broad:
I see that some sports people are concerned about what to write or talk about during Coronavirus. Some ideas:
– Wentz vs. Foles
– Mt. Rushmore of Eagles players
– LeBron or Michael Jordan?
– why we don’t talk about hockey on radio
– is soccer communist?

There are some of you out there saying:
“Wow Drew, tough break – you launched The Liberty Line and now there’s absolutely no sports to write about.”
Valid concerns. You’re right.
Last night myself and Kevin DiPasquale recorded 2 hours of The Misery Report. I deleted the entire episode. A crucial mistake and not the best way to kick off TMR on the first night of quarantine.
Here’s what I’m doing while there are no sports on TV:
Drink Alcohol and Make Food. Become a beer guy and a chef. I went out today and bought five different 6-packs of fancy craft beer. Also stacked up on Josh wine. Not sure who Josh is but the wine is good. Just because you’re on quarantine and you have disgusting humans walking around with the coronavirus outside, doesn’t mean you can’t be classy. I made a salad and a cheese board.
Read a book. I just purchased Tanking to the Top – a book by Yaron Weitzman that covers the Sixers and The Process. It’s on pre-sale but it should arrive next week.
Galleys have gone out so figured it’s a good time to share: I wrote a book. It’s on the Sixers and The Process. It comes out in March. Here’s the cover, and also the pre-sale link. https://t.co/ccZF3FZyai pic.twitter.com/nCT5Qk8493

Binge Watch Things on TV. I’m a psychopath. I record every Eagles and Sixers game on YouTube TV. Go back and remember the good days. I’d also recommend “The Outsider” on HBO if you’re looking for a TV Series.
Video Games. Play Fortnite or GTA Online with friends. I’ll play with you. Just comment below or tweet at us.
Buy Things on Amazon. Last night I bought these two chairs on Amazon for my apartment. Not sure why. Virus-friendly shopping on Amazon definitely the way to go.
Talk to your Significant Other
We are 100% open for suggestions. Only one day into this hiatus and I don’t know how much longer I can do this. Stay connected with The Liberty Line and good luck out there.
