Here are some details on the protocol players and staff alike must go through before participating in workouts.
Intake Testing:
All players must go through intake testing and await results before they can participate in workouts at Citizens Bank Park.
Postive Tests:
Players testing positive for COVID-19 must receive two negative tests before being cleared to practice with the team.
Roster:
As noted before, the Phillies currently have a 53-man roster. This number can grow to 60 and most likely will fluctuate as players start to get tested.
Location:
In an effort to space out players and training, the Phillies will use both Citizens Bank Park and the fields at the Phillies Youth Academy in FDR park across the street. Players will be transported with security between locations.
“We’re looking to use all parts of Citizens Bank Park. It’s not going to be surprising to see guys doing weight-room routines on the concourse. That’s something we’re contemplating just to give guys a little more room to maneuver.” – Matt Klentak
Stay tuned for more updates as the season gets underway.
