Doug Pederson tests positive for Coronavirus

Late Sunday night Adam Schefter announced that Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson had tested positive for COVID-19. According to Schefter, Doug conducted a meeting with the team to announce the news after receiving his second positive test. Another Eagles staff member had also been sent home due to close exposure with Pederson.

This is the 2nd member of the Eagles organization that we know tested positive for Coronavirus after Lane Johnson tested positive last week.  Jordan Mailata and Nathan Gerry were also placed on the COVID-19 list. Things are not looking for the NFL’s 2020 season starting on time as over 40 players across the league have opted out and several have tested positive for the virus also.

Pederson is the second known coach in the NFL to test positive as Sean Payton tested positive back in March. Eagles wide receiver Marquise Goodwin opted out of the 2020 season recently since he has a 5-month-old child and to protect his family’s health.
