Nola throws 7 scoreless and the Phillies win 6-2

The Phillies will look to break out the brooms today at 1:05pm against the New York Mets.
Last night, Aaron Nola was on the mound and pitched a beautiful 3-hit outing over 7 scoreless innings. Rhys Hoskins doubled and drove in three runs. After the entire city turned on Hoskins in a matter of 5 games, Hoskins now has seven hits in his last 20 at bats. Hoskins also scored last night after a double from Bryce Harper.

Before Rhys finally got things moving, Jean Segura hit his 3rd home run in his last 22 plate appearances.

Today former Mets pitcher and current Phillies pitcher Zack Wheeler will take the mound looking for a much needed series sweep. Wheeler has been great for the Phillies and is currently 2-0 with a 2.89 ERA.
He will be facing off against Rick Porcello, who in his first two outings, allowed six runs in just eleven innings pitched. His last two, however, he’s pitched 13 innings of 3-run ball.
This is yet another game that the Phillies should win, and I believe they will. A win this afternoon will give the Phillies an 8-9 record. The rest of the NL East isn’t great either. The Phillies are in the hunt and after a rocky start, we’re all hoping they can go on a run here and win games that they are expected to win.
Ring that bell, baby.
