Phillies Complete the Sweep, Win 6-2 against the Mets

The Phillies beat the Mets 6-2 today to complete the 3-game series sweep. The Phillies have won 16 of the last 23 games against the Mets and improve to 8-9 on the season.

Game Notes:

Zack Wheeler: 7 innings pitched, 6 hits, 2 earned runs, 1 walk, and 4 strikeouts. Another quality start from Wheeler who is now 3-0 on the season.

Andrew McCutchen hit a 2-run home run to break the game open for the Phillies in the bottom of the 6th inning.

Alec Bohm was 2-4 with an RBI double and a run scored.

Bryce Harper went 2-3 with a walk and a run scored.

JT Realmuto was 3-4 with a double and a run scored.

Rhys Hoskins went 1-5 but is looking like he’s on the verge of breaking out of the slow start to 2020. He had another RBI today after tallying 3 last night.

Didi Gregorious extended his hit streak to 7 games with an RBI single to extend the Phillies lead in the bottom of the 7th inning.

The Phillies are now 8-2 when scoring 5 or more runs. They are 0-7 when scoring 4 or less runs.

Next Up:

The Phillies will hit the road for the next 11 days. They will play two games in Boston and then a make-up double-header in Buffalo against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Both teams are under .500 and it will be a perfect opportunity for the Phillies to get things moving with a nice winning streak.
