Philadelphia Union vs Toronto FC Preview: First Place on The Line

The Philadelphia Union take the field tonight in the biggest game of the season so far against the first-place Toronto Impact. A Union win would create a tie in first place where they hold tiebreakers in goal differential and goals forward.
The Union are entering this game following a 2-1 victory over the New England Revolution. Union head coach Jim Curtin talked about how important this game is earlier this week.
Toronto FC Scouting Report
Toronto is easily one of the best teams in the league and has experience in important games. Last year, Toronto lost in the finals against the Seattle Sounders, and are looking to make their way back there this year.
Toronto has one of the best players in the MLS, Alejandro Pozuelo, and a talented veteran in Jozy Altidore. Pozuelo is dominating the MLS with 12 goals and assists and is looking to win the league’s MVP. Toronto hasn’t lost a game since September 5th against the Vancouver Whitecaps, but will have a tough matchup tonight against the Philadelphia Union defense.
Prediction: 2-1 Union
I think the Union get the big 3 points tonight and remain unbeaten at home. The homegrown players will come up big once again, but Alejandro Pozuelo and Toronto FC’s attack will cause some problems for the Union.
