Philadelphia Union vs Columbus Crew Preview

The Philadelphia Union take the field tonight in Ohio against the Columbus Crew. The Union have a 3 point lead in first place and are looking to end the season strong. However, star goalie Andre Blake has gone done with a hand fracture, and his return date is unknown. Joe Bendik is the next man up and the Union are confident in his ability as he has over 180 matches of experience. This will be the second meeting between the teams this season, with Columbus Crew handing them one of their three loses on the season.
Columbus Crew Scouting Report
Columbus Crew is currently sitting in third place and are 6 points behind second-place Toronto FC. The Crew had a very good start to the season, but then they were hit with a few injuries. They have lost three of their last five games and are looking to get back on track tonight. The Union are entering a difficult place to play, as the Crew have a record 7-1-0 at home.
Player to Watch
Joe Bendik: The one player that I’m keeping an eye on is Union backup goalie Joe Bendik. Bendik is more than likely going to be the starting goalie heading into the playoffs, and this is his first ever start with the Union.
Prediction: 1-1 Draw
The Union are entering a tough place to play, and the Crew are trying to get back in form for the MLS Playoffs. I think this will be a hard fought game from both teams that will end in a draw.
