76ers Unveil Boathouse Row City Edition Uniforms

Hype has been building over the last week about the 76ers new City Edition uniforms. It was heavily teased that they were bringing back the black uniforms for the first time in over a decade. The wait is finally over.
It was expected by many to be very similar to the Iverson era uniforms however this a completely unique design. Overall I feel they are a bit underwhelming but there are definitely some cool aspects in the jerseys.
The skyline featured on the front is Boathouse Row and mimics the lighting on the buildings at night. The skyline wraps all the way around the back and the nameplate is featured underneath.
There is also a new court which is probably the best thing to come from this. The middle logo remains the alternate 76 we have seen for a few years alongside the “unite or die” snake. The outline is black with red and blue lines underneath creating a very sleek design.
A new number and word font is displayed with a blue shadow drop and the number is above the skyline creating a look never seen in a Sixers jersey before.
Overall, I’m not the biggest fan of this uniform. Having the black jerseys, I think they could’ve pulled off something really cool but the word and number font is really bland.
Looking at some of the concepts from the Simmons / Zach Lowe Piece, there were other options on the table:

Per the article, Simmons wanted to add red to the uniforms and switch to v-neck. I still would have went with the Boathouse row down the side rather than around the jersey.
Hopefully the can grow on me but I’ll have to see them on court first. They’re ok but definitely could have been executed a lot better. I would rank them as one of the lesser city uniforms the 76ers have had. In my opinion, this one is still the best they’ve released.
