Eagles to bring back Jordan Howard to practice squad
After a years absence, Jordan Howard is finally back. Howard was waived from the Miami Dolphins a few days ago after a weak season. Howard rushed for 19 yards on 10 attempts through 5 starts. This offseason Jordan signed a 2 year $9.75 million deal to leave Philadelphia.
Howard is being brought in on a visit later this week, and if all goes well he will be signed to the practice squad soon after.
In his last stint with the Eagles Jordan rushed for 525 yards in 10 appearances with 6 touchdowns. Due to his high price tag Howard wasn’t expected to return last free agency.
The Eagles have had some issues with running back depth in previous weeks. Miles Sanders was out for a few weeks leaving only Boston Scott and Corey Clement in the backfield.
If Howard is as good as he was last season he can easily replace Clement and maybe Boston Scott. This signing comes off the announcement of several Eagles placed on the COVID-19 list including JJ Arcega-Whiteside.
Howard is only 2 seasons removed from a near 1,000 yard season with the Bears. Jordan could bring some firepower to the Eagles backfield but likely not before their matchup against the Cleveland Browns Sunday.

Instead, Doug Pederson has had Wentz throw the ball 35+ times in 8 out of 10 games this season. Hopefully, the Eagles commit to the run a bit more down the stretch, especially after bringing back Jordan Howard. […]
