Philadelphia Union PLAYOFF Preview

The MLS Playoffs are finally here and the Union plays tonight in the first round against who else other than the New England Revolution. This is the sixth meeting between the teams this season, but this match means much more tonight. The game kicks off tonight at 8 pm eastern on ESPN.
New England Revolution Scouting Report
Already meeting five times this season, both teams know each other very well. The Union have taken 10 out of the 12 points in the matchups in the regular season, and they beat them in the MLS is Back Tournament. The Revs may figure out the Union this time around, but the Union have a huge advantage with the game at home in Chester.
The Revolution are coming off of a 2-1 victory against the Montreal Impact where two of their best players Carles Gil, and Gustavo Bou scored. They are managed by Bruce Arena who will be coaching his 52nd MLS Playoff game tonight, the most of all time.
Players to Watch:
Andre Blake: Of course, the first player I’m listing here is Andre Blake. Blake has been cleared to return back to the field at the perfect time. The Goalkeeper of the year is looking to continue his great play in the postseason.
Gustavo Bou: The 30 year old forward for the Revs has been one of their key pieces to success. Since joining the Revs in 2019, Bou has scored six times in the 85th minute or later. If the game goes down to the wire, the Union need to watch out for him.
Carles Gil: Gil has missed 17 games for the Revoultion due to injury and in his first playoff game, he had nine key passes and three shots on target. Gil led the Revs in successful passes, crosses, and touches last game as well.
Prediction: 2-1 Union
With the game being at home, it’s almost impossible to not bet on the Union tonight who are coming into the match at a (+108). Historically, there has been a bad reputation of first seeded teams in the MLS Playoffs, but the Union aren’t here for one game. Union head coach Jim Curtin, and the team have been working so hard for this moment, as they have built a special group that won the first piece of hardware in club history. I just don’t see them losing tonight, nothing tells me that they are.
Here is a video to get you hyped up for tonight’s big game.
