Flyers schedule released, host Penguins Jan. 13th in Season Opener

FINALLY. The Flyers schedule has been released.
The Flyers start the season with a nice little 4-game homestead where they’ll open up January 13th against the rival, Pittsburgh Penguins.
Game 1: Home vs Pittsburgh on January 13th
Game 2: Home vs Pittsburgh on January 15th
Game 3: Home vs Buffalo on January 18th
Game 4: Home vs Buffalo on January 19th
Though they’re no fans for any home team this year, it’s still nice to see the Flyers open up at home finally. At least they don’t have to travel very far too open up the season, being we opened up last season in an entirely different country. I’m sure it was a great experience for the players (especially Voracek) and it’s cool to see the NHL trying to market the game in any way (finally), the Flyers just have always seemed to get the short end of the stick when it comes to opening up the season.
2019-20 season : Technically a “home game” but in Prague
2018-19 season : @ Vegas
2017-18 season: @ Sharks
2016-17 season: @ Kings
2015-16 season : @ Lightning
2014-15 season: @ Boston
2013-14 season: Home vs Toronto
It’s just funny that now we get a 4-game home stretch to open the season and nobody is going to be there to watch. Still, I think it’s got to be refreshing to veterans like Giroux and Voracek knowing you don’t have to travel anywhere but to your car this year.

The Flyers have eight back to back games over the the entire 56-game season. First one is pretty early on in the season having to face Buffalo January 18th and 19th.
January 18-19th vs Buffalo
January 30-31st vs Islanders
March 17th @ Rangers and March 18th @ Islanders
March 29-30th @ Buffalo
April 5-6th vs Boston
April 17th vs Washington and 18th vs Islanders
May 3-4th vs Pittsburgh
May 7-8th @ Washington
The Flyers were 1-1-1 last season vs Pittsburgh. Getting blown out in the first matchup of the season 7-1.
Game 1: 7-1 L
Game 2: 3-0 W
Game 3: 4-3 L (OT)
It should be a good start to the season, jumping right back into heated division games vs the hated Penguins. You have players like Kevin Hayes saying things like this.
This season is going to be a ton of fun. Bad blood games between teams who’re eventually going to get familiar with each others play styles. Whatever team works the hardest is going to come out on-top, another thing Hayes mentioned.
It’s all going to come down to the team that works the hardest and whatever coach can get his guys going in such short time.
Lets get thing rollin’! Go Flyers!
