Bets Bets: Eagles vs Cowboys
First and foremost, I hope everyone in the Delaware Valley and Eagles fans around the globe had a wonderful Christmas. Somehow the Eagles are still alive in the dumpster fire that we call the NFC East. The football gods are taunting us at this point. The Birds were involved in the most exciting game of week 15 against the Cardinals but fell short of a victory.
And as if to insult us, we are now forced to watch a meaningful Cowboys game. A December divisional clash while both team are still alive. Jerry Jones up in the box having his reading glasses cleaned by his kin. Red Salvation Army pots set up conveniently for Ezekiel Elliott to jump into while I shout various expletives at the television screen. I love it and loathe it at the exact same time.
The Eagles are fun to watch again and they are going to go the playoffs. You heard it here first.
But I still hate this team. I swear I do.
My prediction and best bets are below.
Eagles 30-Cowboys 27
ESPN’s Power Football Index actually has the Cowboys favored in this game. I don’t see it. Since 2017 when they won the Super Bowl, the Eagles are 11-2 in games they must win or they’d be eliminated from the playoffs or mathematically knocked out of contention.
My number #1 gambling rule is never back a team led by Andy Dalton. Especially a bad team led by Andy Dalton. The Eagles silence the ‘Red Rifle’.
Eagles -3 & Over 49.5
I don’t think either team is playing exceptionally well on defense. The Cowboys have given up 30+ point in 3 of their last 4 games. The Eagles secondary is a mess and is liable to give up the big play inside on the carpet.
Jalen Reagor over 33.5 yards receiving
Hurts and Reagor seem to have a nice connection brewing. Reagor has surpassed this number in every game Hurts has started. Each catch and bubble screen from this duo helps me move back from the proverbial Justin Jefferson ledge. I want to jump. Sure we passed over a generational talent but everything will be ok! I swear!
Desean Jackson to score the 1st TD of the game (+1500)
Jackson is the best receiver in the league…..during the first drive of the game before he eventually re-injures his hamstring and we don’t see him for 6 weeks. Im going to be positive. Let’s pray for a bomb and some missed tackles. If this is going to be DeSean’s last game in midnight green I want the memory to be a good one.
Fly Eagles Fly.
