Joel Embiid Further Strengthens MVP Case In 76ers 137-134 OT Win Over Heat

Joel Embiid once again proved his early case for the NBA’s Most Valuable Player for during his complete and utter dominance over the Miami Heat on Tuesday night. The Philadelphia 76ers got the best of the Miami Heat on Tuesday night, defeating the rival franchise 137-134 in overtime. A game where both teams had less than 10 players available included foul outs on both sides and some questionable calls, to say the least.

Joel Embiid was the main character of the night. The big fella had a 20 point 3rd quarter performance that propelled him into a near career game. Joel ended with 45 points, 16 rebounds, and 4 assists along with 5 steals and a block. Oh yeah, he accomplished this on 70% shooting from the field.

Danny Green was also wildly impressive this game, tying the 76ers franchise record with nine 3-pointers made. He ended the night with 29 points, 6 assists, and 10 rebounds. He had ample opportunities to break the franchise record, however failed to capitalize.

With an absolutely abysmal night from Ben Simmons, his only positive came from his 12 assists. He fouled out and evidently ended with more turnovers and fouls than points. Simmons has struggled over the past week and we can only hope he will get it corrected soon.

A clutch 3 from Dakota Mathias all but finished this contest. The 76ers look to get more players back soon, as their next test is against the Miami Heat again this Thursday at 7:00 PM.
