Nick Sirianni’s coaching staff continues to fill vacant positions. Shortly after it was reported he was interviewing for the job, the Eagles have hired Shane Steichen to be their new offensive coordinator. Previously Steichen was with the Los Angeles Chargers and held the same position.

Steichen was the Chargers offensive coordinator the last year and a half after being promoted from quarterbacks coach, a position he held from 2016-2019. Steichen and Sirianni both worked together in San Diego. The 35-year-old had extreme success with Justin Herbert last season.
The Chargers’ offense ranked just 18th in points, but they also ranked 9th in yards, 4th in giveaways with rookie quarterback in Justin Herbert. Herbert completed over 66% of his passes and averaged 7.3 yards per catch. He threw 31 touchdowns and ten interceptions with a 98.3 QB rating. Steichen was credited for Herbert’s rapid growth and will be an exciting fit with Carson Wentz.
Philadelphia has been making several coaching staff moves the last two days. Yesterday they brought back Jeff Stoutland and hired Jonathan Gannon to be their defensive coordinator, amongst other moves.
