SCCL: Philadelphia Union to face Deportivo Saprissa April 7, host on April 14th at 8pm

Concacaf has announced the schedule for the 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League (SCCL) Round of 16 matches. The eight matchups between the 16 participating clubs will take place April 6-8 (first legs) and April 13-15 (second legs). The pairings for the first round of the competition and each club’s road to the final were determined at the official draw on Wednesday, February 10th.
The Philadelphia Union will make their SCCL debut on the road at Deportivo Saprissa on Wednesday, April 7th, from Estadio Ricardo Saprissa Ayma at 6 PM EST. The second leg will take place one week later on Wednesday, April 14th, with an 8 PM EST game at Subaru Park.
The 2021 edition of the SCCL will continue to be played in a direct elimination knockout format, with home and away matches in the Round of 16, Quarterfinals and Semifinals. The final will be played as a single leg.
The winner of this elite club competition will be crowned regional club champion and will represent the confederation at the 2021 FIFA Club World Cup. The current champion is Tigres UANL after they won the 2020 SCCL and subsequently performed impressively at the 2020 FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar, where they became the first team from the Concacaf region to reach a Club World Cup final.
