Rumor: One team still interested in Zach Ertz

We are now in the month of April and Zach Ertz is still on the Eagles roster. It was reported a month ago that the team was seeking a 3rd or 4th-round pick for the former Pro Bowl tight end, but it seems as though no such offer has been presented. Per Tony Pauline of ProFootballNetwork.com, the Colts are still interested in Ertz’s services.

Last week on the debut episode of “The Hot Route” with AP sports journalist Rob Maaddi and myself, Maaddi mentioned that there was some bitterness involved in the relationship between Ertz and Howie Roseman. Ertz has made it known that he would like to be traded sooner rather than later and the team has been more loyal to players that have done less.
Ertz played in just 11 games last season catching 36 passes for 335 yards and a single touchdown. With Carson Wentz now donning Indy blue, the Colts are a more than ideal landing spot for one of his favorite targets over the years. Ertz’s base salary for 2021 is roughly $8.5M.
