Eagles could package Zach Ertz in trade with 12th pick

Another day, another draft rumor. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler this morning, the Eagles are up to something with the 12th pick, and it might involve an Eagles player too. Fowler stated that the Eagles could package veteran TE Zach Ertz in a trade with the 12th pick when moving up or back during Thursday’s NFL Draft. Ertz has long been waiting to be moved from Philadelphia after a horrible final season with the birds.
“I’m told that Ertz has been waiting, bracing, for a change, a release, a trade, for the better part of the last two months”.
Ertz has some interest during the draft due to the incredibly thin tight end depth following Kyle Pitts. Despite that, there is only a small market due to his steep $8 million salary. Moving on from Ertz following June 1st could help the Eagles clear a lot more cap space instead of this upcoming week, so that is something to keep in mind.
Howie Roseman has been linked to rumors all over the place, but one thing is clear. Nobody has any idea what the Philadelphia Eagles are going to do. Several reports have stated the Eagles are after a quarterback, running back, wide receiver, or defensive back while trading up or back from 12. The 2021 NFL Draft is just five days away, starting on April 29th and running through May 1st.
