Report: Eagles to target wide receiver or cornerback with 12th pick

It is starting to look more and more clear what the Eagles will do with the 12th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Almost every position has been mocked to the Eagles from the offensive line, linebacker, secondary, and wide receivers. But according to Derrick Gunn, Phillyโ€™s mindset might be a bit more clear. Gunn reported that Philly would likely draft a receiver or corner with the 12th pick if they donโ€™t trade back.

If this remains true, fans should begin to take players like Micah Parsons and Rashawn Slater off of their draft boards. This report isnโ€™t the wildest news either. Most analysts have predicted that Philly would be taking one of Patrick Surtain, Jaycee Horn, DeVonta Smith, or Jaylen Waddle when selecting at 12. Some of the players above might not be available with teams like the Dallas Cowboys looking to improve their secondary.

Depending on which way they go, there will be tons of talent in the early second for whichever of the two positions they donโ€™t select. Terrace Marhall Jr. from LSU is an amazing receiver prospect with incredible upside. Florida Stateโ€™s Asante Samuel Jr., son of the former Eagles corner with the same name, is a highly rated day two prospect.

The 2021 NFL Draft is in just 19 days, and the Eagles currently have 11 draft picks to help bolster the roster for the future. Be sure to stay tuned to The Liberty Line for all of your Eagles draft information.
