Report: Eagles could trade up for a DB , also linked to Jaylen Waddle

We might have a clear idea of the Eagles’ plans with the 12th pick in Thursday’s NFL Draft. According to Albert Breer, there is a plan in motion for Philadelphia to trade up from the 12th pick with a set position in mind. Howie Roseman is looking to trade up in the first round to take a cornerback, and the team believes there is a good chance that neither Jaycee Horn nor Patrick Surtain will be available at 12.
If the Eagles are unable to move up or land either of these corners, Breer continued to say they have been linked to Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle. Waddle has been gaining steam as the second-best receiver in this draft, with his teammate DeVonta Smith falling down draft boards due to his tiny frame. In six appearances for the Crimson Tide, Waddle had 591 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
This isn’t the first time Philly has been linked to these players. About a month back they were linked to a WR or DB at 12 according to Derrick Gunn. There have also been numerous rumors about the Eagles trading up for several positions and veteran TE Zach Ertz has been linked to said trades.
Fans seem to be on board with any of the three potential prospects listed above, with both positions desperately needed by Philadelphia. It looks like Horn could be there at 12, but if there are questions about that not happening, it is definitely worth the price to secure their second corner alongside Darius Slay. The 2021 NFL Draft is just three days away, starting April 29th.
