Archie Bradley is Headed to the Injured List with an Oblique Injury

Phillies right handed reliever Archie Bradley is headed to the 10 day injury list with an apparent oblique injury, according to Matt Gelb of The Athletic. Oblique injuries have all sort of different recovery timetables, as the severity and return date for Bradley is currently unknown.
Bradley has pitched in 4 games this season for the Phils, recording 3 IP, 2 ER, and 3 Ks. Bradley was one of the Phillies big relief pitcher signings this offseason, bringing great pitching and a Philly attitude to this bullpen. He has not seen the Injured List since the 2015 season. Although the injury could only be 10 days, the Phillies bullpen will still take a hit from a great start they’ve had to the 2021 season.
With Archie heading to the IL, a reliever from the minors will soon be brought up. Whether that is Jojo Romero, or even Spencer Howard out of the pen, the Phillies have not released a statement just yet on what their plan is. Jojo Romero is my preferred call up, after a great stint throughout the 2020 season, who brings energy to this team in all ways, even if it’s his epic warmup routine of crushing Red Bulls.
Star free agent reliever’s hitting the IL isn’t new to the Phillies. With more details to come, look out for a move from the minors, as Archie is headed to the 10 day. Matt Moore will be on the mound tonight for the Phillies as they look to avoid a sweep against the Atlanta Braves.
