Flyers could take a look at a new wing tonight vs the Pittsburgh Penguins

The Philadelphia Flyers are coming off consecutive losses by a combined score of 11-4. They are 19-17-6 and will face the Pittsburgh Penguins (27-13-2) tonight in Pittsburgh.
The Penguins are winners of eight of their last 10 games and currently sit in third place in the East Division. They are 16-3-1 at home this season. The Flyers are doing the complete opposite. They are coming off their fifth 6-1 loss of the season and have allowed six or more goals eight times this season.
Flyers prospect Wade Allison could make his debut tonight against Pittsburgh. The 23-year-old winger was called up to the taxi squad last weekend and took part of the Flyers’ morning skate today.
After Raffl was dealt before the deadline and the Flyers continuous fall out of playoff contention, it makes sense for the Flyers to start calling up their young prospects to get some playing time at the NHL level. A.V. will speak to the media at 4:30pm so we’ll know then if Allison is skating tonight.
The second round draft pick missed time because of ankle surgery in late-January. From there, Allison got off to a hot start in Lehigh Valley, scoring four goals and five assists in eight games before getting the call up to the Flyers’ taxi squad.
The 2016 second-round draft pick missed time because of ankle surgery in late-January. He got off to a fast start with AHL affiliate Lehigh Valley, putting up four goals and five assists in eight games before being summoned to the taxi squad.
Jeff Carter is scheduled to make his debut for the Penguins tonight against his former Flyers team. Tough to get excited about anything to do with the Flyers but the silver lining is getting to see some of the young guys getting called up and having some ice time.
UPDATE 1:35 PM: Allison will debut tonight. Carter Hart getting the start in net.
