The Philadelphia Eagles Have Selected Marlon Tuipulotu With the 189th Pick

The Eagles are stacking up on the defensive line in this draft, with their newest selection at 189 of Marlon Tuipulotu, a defensive tackle from USC. Tuipulotu comes in at 6’2, 307 pounds with a 33″ arm reach.
Producing a strong senior bowl, and three starting seasons at USC, Tuipulotu will be a good depth addition to the team. Common issues through scouts suggest that Marlon does need to put on some weight but give that man a few cheesesteaks and he’ll be good to go. Marlon’s strengths, according to NFL scouts, include:
- Accountable, Reliable, Tough
- Quick Hands off the Snap
- Sets strong edges to muddle rush lanes
- Explosiveness to pull blockers off balance and shed quickly
- Great attitude, right mindset
Tuipulotu, 21, was first-team all-Pac 12 last season. He’s 6-foot-2 and 307 pounds. @dpbrugler had him ranked as the No. 3 DT in the draft and the No. 69 overall player with a grade of the 2nd/3rd round. https://t.co/bkxmCRq7pn

The Eagles have stacked up on the defensive line this draft, and although Marlon won’t be a Day 1 starter, he will bring good depth to a strong defensive line and have good mentors to learn from.
