Eagles sign Iowa State defensive end JaQuan Bailey

The Eagles continue to add defensive line depth through free agency, signing rookie edge rusher JaQuan Bailey from Iowa State. Bailey will join fellow d-line rookies Milton Williams, Marlon Tuipulotu, and Tarron Jackson. Over 54 games, Bailey had an impressive 25.5 sacks and 45 tackles for loss during his time with the Cyclones.
Although he can play on the line, many scouts have projected that JaQuan will switch to outside linebacker in the NFL. There are numerous problems with his pass rush technique, and his athleticism is better suited for the open field than the trenches. Bailey had a historic career upfront for Iowa State, though, holding the record for most career sacks and led the team in sacks every year except his senior season.
Adding a versatile defender is huge for the Eagles and provides depth to numerous positions. Bailey is the fourth undrafted free agent for the Eagles, joining quarterback Jamie Newman and wide receivers Trevon Grimes and Jhamon Ausbon.
