New PFF rankings: Miles Sanders is a top-20 RB heading into 2021

Amidst a disheartening Eagles season in 2020, second-year RB Miles Sanders was one of the few bright spots on the team. Despite being 21st in the league in carries, Sanders was ranked 5th in yards per attempt and 7th in yards per game amongst running backs.
Coming off two straight 800-yard seasons, Sanders looks to become more of a featured back in Nick Sirianni’s new offense. Pro Football Focus recently released their 2021 running back rankings and have the Penn State product sitting in the middle of the pack:
19. MILES SANDERS, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
“Sanders has been more productive than his PFF grades would suggest, though his grades have been partly dragged down by fumbles (four last season). He has impressive speed, with 14 carries of 15 or more yards since coming into the NFL to pair with an average of 3.3 yards after contact per carry.”

Sanders missed four games last season and fell off as a pass-catcher but was very effective on the ground. If he can clean up the fumbles and drops, Sanders can be a top-10 back in the league even with improved depth behind him.
The Eagles added Kenneth Gainwell in the 5th-round of the draft while also claiming Kerryon Johnson off waivers. Jordan Howard and Boston Scott are also returning to the team.
