Report: Eagles claim former Lions RB Kerryon Johnson off waivers

The Eagles have claimed former Lions RB Kerryon Johnson off waivers, per his agent Drew Rosenhaus. Johnson was cut by Detroit on Wednesday after the team added Jamaal Williams in free agency and Jermar Jefferson through the draft last week.
Johnson has accumulated 1,225 rushing yards and 527 receiving yards over the last 3 seasons with the Lions. He does come with injury woes, however, having knee issues in 2018 and tearing his meniscus in 2019. The former second-round pick carried the ball just 52 times for Detroit last season.
At 23 years old, Johnson is yet another weapon the Eagles have added to the backfield in addition to Miles Sanders & 5th-round pick Kenneth Gainwell. One has to wonder what the team will now do with Jordan Howard after this injection of youth on the roster.
The Eagles have been aggressive on the waiver wire this week, having put in a claim on a wide receiver as well.
Can’t get tackled if you jump over everybody. Smart.
