Report: Nick Foles refused trade to the Eagles during the offseason

The Eagles had a chance to reunite with former Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles during the offseason, but Foles didn’t want to return to Philadelphia, per NFL Insider Tyler Dunne:

“The Bears tried cleansing their hands of the Nick Foles mistake by trading Foles back to Philly. Foles didn’t want to go, one source says, so the Eagles refused to trade for a QB who wouldn’t report.”

Foles has played with Jacksonville and Chicago since his departure from Philadelphia. With second-year quarterback Jalen Hurts slated to be the starter next season, perhaps Foles had no interest in sitting behind him. According to reports, no other teams are interested in the 32-year-old signal-caller as of now.

The Eagles eventually signed veteran Joe Flacco to compete with Hurts in training camp.
