DeVonta Smith already feeling at home in Philadelphia

It has only been a few weeks, but DeVonta Smith is already feeling comfortable with the Philadelphia Eagles. Smith talked yesterday about his relationship with his new teammates through the early stages of OTAs. Through his time at Alabama, DeVonta has called himself a pretty quiet person, but he is slowly becoming a leader in his new home.
“I’ve kind of gotten out of my shell kind of quick. It was just like, I can be somebody that interacts with people a lot, that’s not always going to just be to themself. I feel like it goes mostly to just my teammates, the way they’ve accepted me, and just how comfortable they made me feel. I’ve learned that I don’t always have to be this person that’s just in his shell.”
Everyone has been raving about DeVonta Smith since he arrived in Philadelphia. Head coach Nick Sirianni has showered him with praise citing his work ethic and catch radius. Eagles fans are ecstatic to see #6 take the field this fall, and he has grown close with several of his teammates already.
DeVonta has bonded the most with his longtime teammate Jalen Hurts, so far. Alongside Jalen, Smith, and Eagles cornerback, Darius Slay have been working with each other a good amount. The Eagles and DeVonta Smith came to terms yesterday on a lucrative 4 year $21 million contract that is fully guaranteed with a fifth-year option.
