Joel Embiid named one of 10 finalists for the NBA Community Assist Award

Joel Embiid continues to prove he is both the MVP of the NBA and the city of Philadelphia. Earlier today, the NBA announced its ten finalists for the NBA Community Assist Award. Their nominees included Devin Booker, Damian Lillard, Donovan Mitchell, and Joel Embiid alongside former 76ers Jrue Holiday and Josh Richardson to name a few. The winner of the award gets $25,000 to donate to the organization of their choosing.
Over the last year, Joel has done an incredible job at giving back to the city of Philadelphia. Back at the start of COVID-19, Embiid donated $500,000 towards PPE for frontline healthcare workers. Back in March, Joel also won the Community Assist Award for donating $100,000 to help combat homelessness.
Be sure to vote for Joel Embiid starting today through June 19th via Twitter using the #NBACommunityAssist hashtag and the player’s name or mention their account. Meanwhile, the 76ers are preparing for their Game Two matchup against the Atlanta Hawks tonight at 7:30 on TNT.
