Joel Embiid receives NBA Cares Community Assist Award for March

Joel Embiid continues to give back to the community. Earlier today, the NBA announced that Embiid received the NBA Cares Community Assist Award for March. Embiid was given the award due to his assistance in helping youth homelessness in Philadelphia. Joel donated $100,000 to Sunday Breakfast Mission and Youth Service INC.
With this award comes a $10,000 donation from the NBA to Joel’s charity of choice. He chose Covenant House Pennsylvania, another charity that helps homeless youth. Back in the peak of COVID-19, The Process donated $500,000 to help towards relief for Wells Fargo Center employees.
Last month’s winner of the award was San Antonio Spurs guard Patty Mills. Mills won the award for his charitable work in Australia. The 76ers are back in action later tonight at home against the Golden State Warriors.
