The Philadelphia Union take Soldier Field tonight at 8pm vs Chicago Fire

The Chicago Fire host the Philadelphia Union at Soldier field tonight at 8pm. Chicago is pretty bad at soccer this year and currently sit at the bottom of the league, having only won one game this season. The Union, have been fantastic, and could potentially find themselves in second place after tonight. They sit in third place, tied on points with second place Orlando City and five points behind the New England Revolution.
The Union have won six of their last seven meetings against the Chicago Fire. Their last meeting was in May, where the Union walked away with a 2-0 victory. They have won four out of their last five games and haven’t lost a game since May 1st. Most recently, the Union took down the Columbus Crew last Wednesday in front of a sold out crowd at Subaru Park in Chester.
The Chicago Fire have been shutout in six of nine games this season and have only scored a total of four goals in 2021. After shutting out the defending MLS Cup champs in the Columbus Crew, the Union should have absolutely no problem beating the Fire tonight.
Philadelphia Union Injury Report
The Philadelphia Union will be without Daniel Gazdag and Ilsinho due to injury. Jose Martinez is on Copa America duty with Venezuela and hence won’t be available for this match. Anthony Fontana and Jack De Vries are undergoing concussion protocol and are still doubts for the game.
In a summer without the Sixers and an extremely frustrating Philadelphia Phillies team, the Union are all we have left. They’re a damn good soccer team and tonight, they should handle business in Chicago.
Prediction: 3-1 Union.
