A potential trade partner for Zach Ertz?

The Eagles could finally have found a trade partner for tight-end Zach Ertz. Recently, the voice of the Philadelphia Eagles, Merrill Reese, appeared on The National Football Show with Dan Sileo and discussed numerous items, including the longtime Eagle. When asked about the TE room for 2021, Reese made it clear Dallas and Rodgers would likely be the starter and backup respectively, but dropped this bomb regarding Zach Ertz.
“The word today is they’re very close to a deal, and I don’t have any inside information to substantiate this. But the word is they’re close to a deal with Buffalo for Zach Ertz.”
Buffalo has been one of the several teams linked to Ertz over the last several months, and hopefully, a deal can be completed soon. For the Eagles, this would open up over $8 million in cap space and finally move the disgruntled veteran. The trade likely wouldn’t include much draft compensation, but anything is worth it at this point.
Reese has been very hopeful when discussing the Eagles 2021 roster. A few weeks ago, when talking about rookie receiver DeVonta Smith, Reese claimed he’s the first WR to make his jaw drop, and Reese has been around many Eagles wideouts.
