Charlie Manuel to represent Phillies in 2021 MLB Draft

Recently, it was announced that former Philadelphia Phillies Manager and 2008 World Series champion Charlie Manuel will represent the Philadelphia Phillies in Denver for this year’s MLB draft. The legendary skipper will officially make his way to the big stage to represent the team and announce their 2021 draft picks, a pivotal event for the Phillies’ future.
Truth be told, the amount of talent in the farm system is scarce to say the least. There truly isn’t much to brag about other than Clearwater’s Mick Abel (#1 prospect) and Reading’s Bryson Stott (#2 prospect). Both are having good seasons in their respective minor league levels, but that’s about all the Phillies have to offer at the moment.
The Phillies are reportedly hoping to call local pitching prospect Chase Petty and his 102 MPH fastball to the stage with the 13th pick. With Charlie Manuel behind the podium for the Phils, it’ll be interesting to see how they handle the draft this year.
