San Antonio Spurs reportedly “very interested” in Ben Simmons

More and more teams continue to come out of the woodwork for Ben Simmons. Yesterday, Evan Massey of NBA Analysis Network reported that the Spurs were very interested in acquiring the 76ers point guard. San Antonio has long been interested in Simmons, wanting him for Kawhi Leonard back in 2018.
Looking at the Spurs roster, it doesn’t look like they have anything that would fit within the parameters Daryl Morey has set. Morey has made it clear he wants an All-Star caliber player for Ben Simmons, but the Spurs don’t have one. Guard Dejounte Murray is interesting, but the 76ers would need a lot more in return. It makes more sense that the Spurs could be the third team in a Simmons deal, offering up draft assets and youth to another team to acquire Ben.
Following this news, there are now six teams who have been reportedly interested in Ben Simmons, with several more likely following suit. Teams like Cleveland, Indiana, and Sacramento have all been turned away with their proposed offers, with Morey having his sights set on a bigger fish. With the NBA Draft just two weeks away, the rumors are likely to be flooding in even more.
