Phillies Injury Updates: Bryce Harper and Rhys Hoskins listed as day-to-day

While the Phillies pulled off an incredible win during the second half of their doubleheader against the Nationals, not everything went perfect. Joe Girardi said following the game that Bryce Harper and Rhys Hoskins are listed as day-to-day. Rhys injured his left groin while Bryce’s back locked up again.
The good news is that Harper said he would play tomorrow against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Harper has struggled with injuries all season, most recently undergoing an X-Ray for his ankle but didn’t miss much time. Bryce exited the game during the bottom of the third inning. Before his injury, Harper was on a six-game hitting streak.
Hoskins left tonight’s game after the 5th inning and had a solo-shot home run in the third inning. It’s likely if one of Harper or Hoskins were to miss some time, the Phillies would recall Mickey Moniak and Brad Miller would play first base. Hopefully, both of these guys will be able to make a quick recovery. Meanwhile, for the Phillies, the MLB trade deadline is less than 24 hours away, three hours before their game against the Pirates tomorrow night.
