Eagles bring back a familiar face, waive S Obi Melifonwu

The Eagles brought back a familiar face on Monday afternoon, signing safety Blake Countess to the 90-man roster while waiving Obi Melifonwu with an injury designation.
Countess now returns to the Eagles for a 4th stint after being taken by the team in the 6th round of the 2016 draft. He appeared in two games for the Eagles during the 2020 season and has played in 43 career games with the Rams and Jets.
Philadelphia opens up the preseason at home against Pittsburgh Thursday night at 7:30 PM EST.

He averaged 25.5 yards per kickoff return and recovered this blocked punt for a touchdown.
