Eagles waive Kerryon Johnson and 2 others

The Eagles have begun their preseason cuts. Earlier today, Philly announced that they would waive Luke Juriga, Casey Tucker and waived/injured Kerryon Johnson. Juriga and Tucker were extra depth on the offensive line, and with Tucker’s injury, he unfortunately didn’t get a chance to show his worth.

Kerryon suffered a knee injury shortly after their preseason opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers and looked to have a solid showing. It’s unclear how severe the knee injury is, but in a loaded running back room, he finds himself on the outside looking in.

Several more cuts are on their way in the coming weeks, with names like JJ Arcega-Whiteside and Andre Dillard being some of the more popular names floated around. For the fringe guys, they will have another shot to prove their worth a spot on the final 53 against the New England Patriots on Thursday.
