Jalen Hurts sent to hospital after being ruled out against Patriots

Jalen Hurts’ late scratch came as a surprise to many Eagles fans and even his teammates. Initially, all that was said is that Jalen had a non-COVID illness, but following the 35-0 loss, Nick Sirianni provided us with more information. According to Sirianni, Hurts was sent to the hospital with a stomach infection but did not sound concerned that it would be a lingering issue.
According to Adam Schefter, Hurts was told to stay at home and rest for the next two days and tested negative for COVID-19. Thankfully all is good with Hurts, and it isn’t a significant problem. Without Jalen, the Eagles’ offense sputtered with backup Joe Flacco in charge.
Philly likely won’t rush Jalen hurts back from this illness, with another week of joint practices ahead with the New York Jets. Friday’s game will be the best shot Philly fans will get of Hurts in Nick Sirianni’s offense ahead of their season opener against the Falcons.
