The Eagles lost an extremely meaningless game last night 35-0 to the New England Patriots. Starting quarterback Jalen Hurts did not play after being scratched before game time. Outside of six plays from Mailata and Seumalo, the entire offensive line was backups as well. The entire game was a joke, as pretty much all preseason games tend to be. As an Eagles fan, we should have recognized this from the start. Any football game in August doesn’t matter, even more so when it is early preseason games with no real starters playing.

The first type of people that popped up yesterday, were the ones who were upset that they went to the second preseason game of the season and Jalen Hurts wasn’t playing. First, why are you paying a decent amount of money to go to a preseason game? Second, knowing that it is only game two, why on earth would you expect Jalen Hurts to play more than, i don’t know, a total of six snaps? I understand that everyone is excited to be able to watch football but we really need to control our expectations when it comes to preseason games.

I rarely suggest this, but maybe you should be like me. I don’t pay any attention to preseason football. They are simply glorified practices and a way for the NFL and organizations to make more money than they already do with now an 18 game regular season. You have simply bought into the NFL machine. If you’re angry, look in the mirror and realize that you are the dumb person. It’s not the Eagles fault and I’m sure the NFL executives are laughing in their comfy mansions as fans pour into stadiums in August.

Fans complaining aside, there’s also another issue that needs to be addressed in this blog post. That of course, involves the old people on Philly sports talk radio. The WIP Morning show is the worst thing in the entire city. There are literally zero redeeming qualities to Angelo Cataldi and whoever else he brings on his dumb show. The impersonations are not funny either, Joe Conklin. Stop embarrassing yourself.

Last night, Joe Flacco was miserable and as we all know, he started the game due to the fact that Jalen Hurts was ruled out right before the game. Flacco took forever to work through his progressions and make numerous bad passes. While Flacco was bad, Nick Mullens was once again worse. In the second half, Mullens only threw for 27 yards alongside an interception, his third in two games.

So how would the dementia-riddled radio hosts react this morning?

By suggesting that we bring back Nick Foles, obviously.

As the kids say: Holy Ratio. This was so predictable and borderline insulting to anyone who wants to hear real sports radio in the city of Philadelphia. Unfortunately, this is what we are left with as figureheads like Angelo Cataldi and Mike Missenelli have a bizarre stranglehold on the radio airwaves.

Between those two idiots and people like the Eskins, Philadelphia is in desperate need of a change when it comes to talking sports in this city. My suggestion, would be The Daily Ticket with Sean Brace.

As for the ridiculously stupid topic on hand, it’s pretty simple. Nick Foles was the Super Bowl MVP. He has a freaking statue outside of Lincoln Financial Field. Jalen Hurts is our starting quarterback. Nick Foles has no reason to come here and be a backup quarterback. We have went through that already and it ultimately ruined Carson Wentz. Why keep recycling the same garbage and expect it to turn into gold?

Stop listening to WIP. Stop engaging with them on social media. Block everyone who works there. We can enforce change. There’s no reason to pay any attention to it.
