Eagles tight end placed on IR with torn patella tendon

The Eagles’ tight end depth chart has taken a brutal blow over the last week. Yesterday it was reported that Jason Croom would be headed to the IR with a torn right patella tendon. Croom sustained the injury against the Patriots on Thursday night. Jason will be joining fellow tight end Tyree Jackson, who is out 8-10 weeks with a fractured bone in his back.

Without Jackson and Croom, Philly will need some help at TE for the remainder of the preseason. Earlier this week, the team worked out local product Cary Angeline, who was just released by the Arizona Cardinals. Behind Ertz and Goedert, the Eagles only have Richard Rodgers and UDFA Jack Stoll remaining.

Injuries have been piling up for the Eagles, with K’Von Wallace also leaving Thursday’s game early with a groin injury. Andre Dillard, JaCoby Stevens, and Davion Taylor are all week-to-week as of last Monday. The Eagles have another week of joint practices ahead, facing off against the New York Jets.
