Howie Roseman ranked the least trustworthy GM in the NFL

Even after a solid offseason, Howie Roseman is still not respected highly in the eyes of many. The Athletic recently released a survey amongst 33 NFL Agents regarding numerous questions amongst the league. When they got to general managers, the feedback was not kind to Howie.
Ben Standig asked the 33 agents, “among GMs or front-office leaders, whom do you trust the least?” Coming in first place with seven votes was none other than Howie Roseman. This ranking comes as no surprise, with the Eagles franchise often lying through their teeth. The most recent scenario being the Jalen Hurts-Deshaun Watson saga.
When the agents were asked to provide feedback, these were the results.
“He’s always playing both sides at all times. He’s not dishonest. He’s a hedger. Always makes sure he has a side deal.”
“Howie will do what Howie needs to do. I say that with tremendous reverence, but I don’t trust him.”
“This is easy. He tells you one thing and does the opposite. You can tell him something and say it stays with us and then three or four people are hitting me up about what we discussed. It doesn’t make him a bad guy, but there’s no transparency.”
“Why? Because he’s Howie. I would have said (former Washington team president) Bruce Allen, but he’s gone.”
These comments come as no surprise based on Roseman’s history. Howie Roseman has always had a tendency to call and offer about everything during the NFL Draft. He also holds an extremely high price over his players like Carson Wentz and Zach Ertz. The one positive takeaway here is that none of these comments said they disliked him but just didn’t like how he operated.
Howie Roseman has a big offseason ahead of him, with numerous Eagles needing extensions, including Jordan Mailata and Derek Barnett. It’ll be interesting to see the potential trade negotiations with Watson and if anything will leak that lines up with these quotes above.
