Rich Paul reportedly ignored 76ers calls for Nerlens Noel in 2018

Yesterday Darren Heitner reported that former 76ers center Nerlens Noel is attempting to sue his former agent Rich Paul for $58 million in lost earnings. Paul was reportedly negligent to Noel and prioritized several other clients over him, and caused Nerlens to miss out on major contracts.
One of the highlighted scenarios of this included the Philadelphia 76ers. Back during the 2018 offseason, the Sixers reportedly were interested in Nerlens and tried to contact Paul. Rich refused to answer any of their calls, and Noel didn’t know they were interested until Brett Brown told him after the fact.
“Noel allegedly learned from Brett Brown, who was coaching the Philadelphia 76ers at the time, that the 76ers front office had been trying to contact Paul to discuss a potential deal and that Paul refused to respond. This was purportedly the case with other team representatives who were reaching out as well.”
Rich Paul runs Klutch Sports and is also the representative of disgruntled 76ers’ star Ben Simmons. Unfortunately, there was never a reunion with the veteran big man despite the Sixers’ significant need of a center during the 2019 playoffs. If it’s true that Rich Paul wasn’t answering calls and leaving money on the table for Nerlens Noel without telling him, then Noel is entirely in the right for filing a lawsuit.
