LeBron James calls out Joel Embiid for being late to practice… Fake News
You knew it. You just knew it. The national media wasn’t going to wait to let Philadelphia fans enjoy this 76ers team. We could’t even make it past one preseason game. And of course, any team with LeBron James on it is going to garner some extra attention.
Mike Breen reported during the Sixers-Knicks game that Joel Embiid was supposedly a couple minutes late to practice and that LeBron James “let him hear it.” Sounds juicy, right?
Except there’s one MASSIVE problem. It wasn’t true and LeBron wasted no time shutting the whole thing down.

LeBron himself is saying the story isn’t true. And this wasn’t even some report based on Breen personally watching Embiid stroll into practice late. Breen said “somebody” told him.
And now we’re supposed to run with Joel Embiid being late, LeBron being pissed off, and the Sixers having some sort of locker-room drama? Give me a fucking break.
THE MEDIA IS ALREADY CIRCLING
This is what drives me insane about being a Sixers fan. It feels like we are never allowed to simply enjoy our basketball team. The second there’s something positive happening, everyone is waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Joel Embiid looks healthy? “Yeah, but…” LeBron James joins the Sixers? “Yeah, but…” Tyrese Maxey looks ready to be an MVP candidate? “Yeah, but…”
It’s exhausting.

I’ll take King James word.
Here’s where I’m at.
If LeBron James, the guy who is literally in the building, around the team and around Joel, says “stop the lies,” I’m probably going to believe LeBron over some secondhand “somebody told me” report.
Especially when other reports surrounding Embiid’s offseason have been overwhelmingly positive.
So excuse me if I’m not going to freak out because Joel Embiid supposedly walked onto a practice court a couple minutes late.
