Report: 76ers “prepared” to have Ben Simmons on the roster at the start of the season

The Philadelphia 76ers are prepared to have Ben Simmons on the roster at the start of the season, according to a tweet from Michael K-B of CBS Sports. After an offseason of unprecedented criticism and rumors surrounding the 25-year old point guard, it looks like trade talks have stalled as of late.
After embarrassing themselves in the second round of the NBA playoffs against the Atlanta Hawks, everything came crashing down around the Philadelphia 76ers. No need to provide any additional context in terms of what happened, I’m sure anyone reading this is very aware of how bad it was after the Hawks series, even more so when speaking about Ben Simmons.
Damian Lillard hasn’t requested a trade from the Portland Trailblazers. There has been little to no credible reports about all of the Ben Simmons rumors that have been recycled and circulated all over the internet, radio and television. All things considered, the 76ers don’t seem satisfied in getting rid of Ben Simmons for anything but a superstar in return so this report does make sense.
As each day goes by during the NBA offseason, finding a partner to dance with that is willing to trade an elite player for Simmons continues to fade further and further away into the abyss. The 76ers were not going to get rid of Ben Simmons for anything less than a superstar in return, which makes total sense as their window to win a championship is now.
Simmons has been working out constantly this offseason and like clockwork, we have tons of videos and pictures from his camp of him shooting the basketball.
Bringing Ben Simmons back has, and always was, the right move for the 76ers. Glad to see this report finally come out rather than another random story about Ben Simmons ignoring teammates calls and text messages.
The city of Philadelphia will get behind Simmons. That is, of course, if he decides to take the next step in evolving his game, which we all know means one thing: Shooting the basketball.
